DESIRE

noun a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
This series of paintings explores the endless nature of human desire — the ways we want, yearn, and sometimes lose ourselves in pursuit of what lies just beyond our reach.
Through the lenses of optimism, romanticism, materialism, envy, and freedom, I reflect on desire as both a garden of growth and a field of distortion — where aspirations and illusions intertwine.
Like a garden, our desires grow. Also like a garden, we may not see when the weeds begin to grow.
Examining various aspects of human desire will serve to question why we continuously yearn for things beyond us to the point that our realities may even become distorted by our desires.

MAKE A WISH
On optimism
It's easier to hope with eyes wide shut.
ROSE-TINTED
On romanticism/idealism
Everyone has a different "ideal world"
Why should our ‘ideal’ come at a cost to someone else?”

ALL THAT GLITTERED
On materialism /
On materialising our desires
Pearls fall like rain-- abundant, with purpose, with beauty but also with its troubles.
